What “managed” actually means here
Plenty of hosting is sold as managed and means a control panel and a support ticket. This is the list of things we are actually responsible for.
Fast UK hosting
Servers in the UK, so pages load quickly for UK visitors and your data stays in the country. Not a shared box with four hundred neighbours on it.
SSL, renewed automatically
The padlock in the address bar, kept valid. An expired certificate makes browsers show a full-page warning, and it happens to more small business sites than you would think.
Daily backups, actually tested
Taken every day and kept for 30 days. We periodically restore one to make sure the backups work, because a backup nobody has ever restored is a hope, not a backup.
Updates and security monitoring
If your site runs WordPress, the core, themes and plugins get updated on a schedule and checked afterwards. Malware scanning runs continuously.
Uptime monitoring, 24/7
We are told the site is down before you are, and usually before your customers are. Checks run every minute from multiple locations.

Moving over is free, and we do it
Migration is the bit people dread, so we handle it end to end. We copy the site to our hosting, test it thoroughly on a temporary address, and only then change the DNS. In practice there is no downtime, and if anything did go wrong the old site is still sitting where it was.
You do not need to cancel anything before you talk to us. Let your current hosting run to the end of its term; we will tell you when it is safe to stop paying for it.
What we will tell you honestly
Sometimes we look at a site and conclude that hosting it better is putting good money after bad — a heavy page-builder theme with forty plugins will be slow wherever it lives. If that is the case we will say so, tell you roughly what a rebuild would cost, and leave the decision with you. We would rather not take £15 a month for something we know will keep disappointing you.
Hosting questions
Will moving host affect my Google ranking?
Not if it is done properly, and often it helps. Rankings are affected by URLs changing, by downtime and by speed. A migration that keeps every URL identical, has no downtime and makes the site faster gives Google nothing to react to except the improvement. We keep the URLs the same unless you ask us to change them.
Do you host WordPress sites?
Yes. We host WordPress, static sites and most standard PHP applications. We do not host anything we cannot secure and update responsibly, so if a site depends on abandoned software or a version of PHP that no longer receives security patches, we will explain what needs to change first.
What happens if my site goes down at the weekend?
Our monitoring alerts us regardless of the day, and infrastructure problems get dealt with immediately. If the cause is something inside your site rather than the hosting — a bad edit, a plugin conflict — we will restore the most recent working backup, which is rarely more than a few hours old.
Can I keep my email where it is?
Yes. Website hosting and email hosting are separate things and we deliberately keep them separate. If your email runs on Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or your current provider, it carries on exactly as it is and we simply leave those DNS records untouched.
